Sijo DeMile and Sibok Ambrose Seminar

Sijo DeMile will be covering Closing and Trapping on Friday, Sibok Ambrose will be covering Chi Sai, Phon Sao and more on Saturday.

The seminars were a great success. It’s been several years since Sijo’s last visit and this weekend of seminars was some of his best. Participants flew and drove hours for the opportunity to train and visit with our grandmaster. They came from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kansas, Florida and from Windsor and Winnipeg, Canada. His visits are so rare, so students and friends from all over the Midwest flock to see him whenever the opportunity arises.

Demand for continued training was high so a third seminar was set up for Sunday. Sijo DeMile taught the mechanics of Bruce Lee’s One and Three-Inch Power Punch. We expected a low turnout due to the last minute addition, but participation was as high as the previous two seminars!

“This was one of the best seminar weekends I have ever attended. The Developmental Meditation was one of the best, the Saturday WCD seminar was tailored for the students there, and the Sunday Power Punch seminar was a bonus.” J. Reichert

The seminar students were treated to a bar-b-que in Sijo’s honor on Saturday night. The food was plentiful and the company was excellent. The weather was perfect. Everything came together to create a highly energetic and positive experience for all the participants, for Ambrose Academy, and for Sijo DeMile. Special thanks to Paul and Donna Smith for hosting the BBQ.

New Children’s Programs
Afterschool Martial Arts – coming August/Sept 08:
An excellent alternative to crowded latchkey or daycare programs. Not only
do you get two activities for the price of one, but your child will learn lifelong skills such a discipline, character development, interpersonal relationship
skills, and the “Yes I can” attitude; young people that will settle for nothing
less than their personal best. Because they attend everyday you will see a transformation almost immediately. Transportation from area schools.
3-5:45pm $65 a week. Class size is limited.


WOMEN’S ANTI-ABDUCTION AND SELF DEFENSE
Feb 23rd from 10:30 to 2:30pm $45 at Ambrose Academy in Livonia: This excellent and exciting program is a favorite with women everywhere. It’s direct and no-nonsense approach give women the tools to deal with several life threatening scenarios. Women’s Anti-Abduction and Self Defense seminars have been going strong. This seminar has been presented at our school Ambrose Academy for the last six years. We have expanded our program to other venues, including University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus for the Women in Science and Technology, U of M Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Christ Church Youth Group, Friendship Baptist Church, and Crestwood High School.
