Stranger Smart? Program – Saturday, May 9, 2009
Spring is here, which means it’s time for our Stranger Smart? Program here at Ambrose Academy. Soon children will be spending many more hours out of doors. This is a great time of year to remind them to be Stranger Smart? since they are more likely to encounter strangers on the street. Join us on Saturday afternoon and your child will learn the “5 Steps to Safety.”
Experts agree that the message of stranger safety is not as effective unless programs incorporate extensive role-play. Our program is an entertaining and fun program that offers many opportunities for role-play that help children recognize potentially dangerous situations. The “5 Steps to Safety” also gives them the tools to handle these types of situations. This program is highly recommended by teachers and parents and has been presented at local elementary schools and organizations for over 18 years. We offer it FREE of charge at our location every spring and fall. Call to reserve your spot. Space is Limited. Suitable for ages 5-12. 734-422-4420
Invitations Going Out
Soon our Juniors Awards students will be receiving their invitations for our next outing. Those students in Academic Achievers Club, Black Belt Club, Leadership Program, Perfect Attendance, Volunteer Days, Summer Day Camp Volunteers, Tournament Team, and Demo Team are invited to attend the outing. You are an outstanding group of young people and embody “Black Belt Excellence!” Date and event to be announced.
Lil' Dragons Class - ages 4-6
Registration is now open again for the Lil’ Dragons Class. This class has limited membership and several children are moving up to the Children’s Class. The low teacher-to-student ratio allows us to give your child the attention he or she needs to excel through our program. This class teaches more than just blocking and kicking. We tap your child’s power skills to teach physical life skills. Ambrose Academy provides a positive, nurturing, and energized atmosphere that help children learn the physical life skills that will make them confident and successful. Sign up for our Introduction. Space is limited.
Yip Man (Ip Man) Movie
Just saw the new Ip Man movie starring Donnie Yen. Yip Man if the father of Wing Chun and teacher to the famous film star and martial artist, Bruce Lee. We are fortunate that our grandmaster James DeMile met Bruce Lee at a time when Lee was modifying the wing chun he had learned in China and began training and experimenting with the group in Seattle, Washington. It would be nice to see this movie gain wide distribution in the United States. This film will intrigue and interest people in learning more about wing chun and wing chun do. Highly recommended. Spread the word. It can only bring us new students, always a bonus.
